Minimum wage of $19.86 is cost of living + a national hospital system we own:
$21,681 was the average cost of raising a kid per year in 2023. So my calculation for minimum wage needs to account. $21,681 * 2 for two kids = $43,362 in ADDITION to $16,764 as our $8.06 cost of living calculation, bringing the total to $60,126.$60,126 / 40 hours a week / 52 weeks a year = $28.90 per year, which means this is what our minimum wage needs to be.
But I don't trust this figure of $21,681 per kid if our total cost of living is $8.06 * 40 * 52 = $16,764.80. Average food cost per month = $350 as part of that $8.06. So for two kids we just add two more monthly food items for an additional $700 per month in food = $8,400 per year. $16,764.80 + $8,400 = $25,164.80. $25,164.80 / 40 hours in a week / 52 weeks in a year = $12.09 an hour as the minimum wage.
Plus $1020 for diapers per year. So $25,164.80 + $1020 = $26,184.8
$26,184.8 / 52 weeks a year / 40 hours a week = about $12.60 an hour as what the standard minimum wage should be. But this doesn't account for taxes on our additional income past our $8.06 figure. so the actual figure is HIGHER.To account for taxes: $14,232 per year not including taxes was our $8.06 per hour calculation.
$14,232 + $8,400 for food for 2 kids + $1020 for diapers and wipes = $23,652 per year PRE taxes. So we plug that into a tax calculator and find $2,714 we owe in taxes. $23,652 + $2,714 = $26,366 per year. $26,366 / 52 weeks in a year / 40 hours in a week = $12.68 per hour.
We can add another $2500 a year for other expenses like clothing other expenses and additional savings.
$28,866 / 52 weeks / 40 hours = $13.88 per hour.
But we also need to account for health care. Rather than pay insurance companies, we should just OWN a national hospital system that WE CONTROL.
United States paid $12,434.43 per capita on healthcare in 2022. So we simply add THAT figure to our minimum wage. So $28,866 + $12,434.43 = $41,300.43.
$41,300.43 / 52 weeks in a year / 40 hours in a week = $19.86 per hour that includes our own NATIONAL hospital. In other words a words $5.98 per hour is budgeted for our hospital system. Notice England health care costs are HALF the United States. Once we're in CONTROL of our own hospital system we can do things like drop doctor salaries, which average at $376,000.
Rad eh? Then we can schedule a time to get any doctor thing done. Births are covered, ambulance trips that cost $500 a ride go away. All covered. Dentistry covered. Hospitals become like SCHOOLS. OURS that WE CONTROL, the way they do in England where costs are less than HALF the United States and everyone is covered as just being a citizen of England.
